Characterization of Mechanisms Involved in Cardiopulmonary Bypass Associated Inflammation

Cardiopulmonary Bypass Associated Inflammation

  • Phase: Early Phase I

What is the goal of the study?

1.1 The purpose of this project is to elucidate the cellular and molecular responses involved in the inflammatory response seen in patients after cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). 1.2 Our hypothesis is that a subset of leukocytes are driving the CPB associated inflammatory response and that this response is likely based upon shear stress responsive pathways.

Who can participate in the study?
