ACT! Actively Changing Together
The ACT! program (Actively Changing Together) is a healthy lifestyle program available for overweight and obese youth (8 to 14 years old) who have a body mass index (BMI) greater than the 85th percentile.
This program requires a referral from a healthcare provider, and at least one adult family member must participate.
The ACT! program is a partnership between the YMCA of Greater Seattle and Seattle Children’s Hospital. It is available at YMCAs around the area, including those in King and Snohomish counties and in Olympia, Yakima and Port Angeles.
How do I enroll my family in the ACT! program?
To enroll, follow these steps:
- Review the flyer and referral form (PDF) (Spanish) to learn about the ACT! program.
- Check with your primary care provider. If you, your child and their primary care provider decide the program is right for your child, your provider can fax the flyer and referral form (PDF) (Spanish) to the YMCA.
- Find other helpful information about the program at the YMCA of Greater Seattle or the YMCA of Snohomish County.
For current program dates and applicable fees, call the participating YMCA branch closest to your home, which you can find in the flyer and referral form (PDF) (Spanish), or email the YMCA.
The YMCA is a membership organization open to all people. Financial assistance, to the extent possible, is available to those in need.
