  • Biography

    Randall Bly, MD, is an Associate Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery through the University of Washington-School of Medicine, and the Co-Director of the Cranial Base Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital.  Dr. Bly graduated from Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine, and completed residency at UW followed by a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Seattle Children’s Hospital.  With a background in mechanical engineering, he also serves as adjunct faculty through the UW College of Engineering. Dr. Bly leads a group of surgeon-scientists and engineers at the BioRobotics lab where the team collaborates on designing cutting edge innovations in the surgery. Dr. Bly’s research interests include surgical planning and investigations on how surgeons and engineers plan, guide, and analyze surgery.

    Randall A. Bly is a pediatric otolaryngologist and cares for patients and families with a variety of problems in the head and neck. He has specific interests in patients with speech and swallowing problems, vascular malformations, breathing difficulties, neck masses, and congenital anomalies. He incorporates resources available at Seattle Childrens Hospital to provide the highest level of care to patients and families. His research interest is in how surgery is planned, guided, and analyzed in order to improve patient outcomes, reduce the length of hospital stays, and recover more quickly.
